Useful Links
There is a massive amount of stuff about Tarifa ('The Windy City') on the net. Many of
the locals don't speak English (a good sign of it not being too over developed) - so to practice some basic Spanish phrases - click here (BBC) or here (Hispaniola) … better still, why not take a course while you are there with Hispalense.
Here are also a few other Tarifa related links that we find interesting & useful:

Chris and Karen are professional
photographers (and keen kiters) who are living out in Tarifa. Check out their web site to see some really great portfolios and maybe
even book your own photo shoot - they are really great people and
their friendly service is very good value for money.

For a more personal, mulitmedia view of life in
Tarifa, you might want to try our Tarifa
Studios blog. It contains a varied collection of thoughts, photos, video clips and music from Tarifa, its surroundings and its vibe. We still update our public blog whenever
we get the chance - but we have started to use Facebook - so that we
can share better with 'friends'.

A brilliant, well researched, high quality guide to the best surf spots in Europe including Tarifa, of course!
We bought this beautifully illustrated book recently - it just makes you want to jump in a camper van and travel all across Europe to discover all these great spots.
The book is available in English or German plus they now have a World Guide for those who like to travel a little further in search of their perfect day on the water.
The web site also has a really useful wind forecast page that takes you direct to the current Windguru forecast for all the best spots across Europe

As an alternative to the excellent, laid back
'La Tribu' surf video pizza bar (at bottom of Calle de la Luz), La Trattoria is probably the best more formal pizza/pasta place in town. Down at bottom end of the old town, towards the port, with a great atmosphere - eat inside or out on the Plaza de Alameda.

Located at the top end of the old town (on Calle Silos) - a wonderful place to see artists in residence. Maximillian has great talent and is always happy to chat. Look out for special exhibitions.

Probably the coolest bar (and hotel) in town, down at the bottom of the old town on the main street, along from the beautiful San Mateo church.
Not the cheapest place to drink or have a snack but great music and even a choice of teas (shut during winter/spring).
